Visual form
Stacked Bar / Stacked Column: household financial-asset bars by wealth band and gender control.
Layout / body structure
Each wealth band is shown as a horizontal stacked bar split between assets controlled by women and men. A right-side marker column translates each row into the percent share controlled by women.
What is being compared
It compares US household financial assets controlled by women and men across wealth bands, including the total asset pool.
Measurement system
The stacked bars are measured in trillions of dollars. The right-side markers show percent share of assets controlled by women.
Visible structure inside the graphic
Men control the larger value in every asset band, especially in the 1 million to 2.49 million and 2.5 million to 4.99 million dollar bands. Women’s share varies by band but remains below half overall.
Main takeaway from the visual
The chart shows that women currently control only about a third of US household financial assets, even though a large future wealth transfer may change that distribution.
Key standout values or extremes
The total row shows women controlling 10.9 trillion dollars and men controlling 24.0 trillion dollars, for 34.9 trillion dollars total and a 31 percent women’s share.
