Allegheny County is served by 45 public school districts. The Allegheny Intermediate Unit states that it serves 42 suburban public school districts in Allegheny County (AIU, “Who We Are”); this page adds Pittsburgh Public Schools and the two cross-county districts, Fort Cherry and Penn-Trafford, that still serve Allegheny municipalities.
The pages below group those districts by the part of Allegheny County where each district has its largest municipal footprint. When a district reaches into a second county area, that overlap is noted on the child page.
