Process Improvement:
- Payroll – the inhouse Valuation team was compensated on a per piece basis (commission). This process needed to be overhauled due mainly to a lack of transparency. This had created a mistrust in the process by both the workforce and management. Audit controls were put in place to counter various issues such as segregation of duties (people), correcting approval chains (process), and standardizing the files used to calculate commissions (technology). As a result the team required 2 less FTEs of admin overhead (people), The team got their compensation a week faster (process), and all the information was kept in a single file of which all parties could see their piece (technology).
