What This Field Means
When the unit record was most recently revised as evidence or understanding changed.
This records when the database row was most recently changed. It helps maintainers identify recent revisions and coordinate review while other research continues.
How to Read It Correctly
Update time is not the effective date of the military fact, the publication date of a source, or proof that every field was reverified at that moment.
Example
A later update may reflect new evidence without changing the unit’s historical dates.
Technical Specification
The database column is [USMIL-Unit].[Unit].[UpdatedUTC]. Required UTC modification timestamp with a database default. It is separate from the effective dates of the military facts being described.
Store the UTC modification timestamp according to the database update process. Historical dates and relationship periods belong in their own fields and must not be inferred from this audit value.

Allowed Values and Definitions
No preset menu applies to this field. It stores an identifier, relationship, measurement, date, timestamp, or evidence-derived narrative. Valid content is governed by the SQL type, key relationship, nullability, retained evidence, and the field-specific recording rule above. A list of observed contents would be data, not a list of allowed options.
Missing, Unknown, and Conflicting Information
This column cannot be NULL in the Unit table. When the underlying fact is incomplete, the record must use an allowed explicit disposition or a supported evidence-derived statement. Required storage does not mean that every historical fact is known, and it never authorizes a guessed value.
