Image-Specific Fields
These fields describe an image asset's pixel canvas, color and sample representation, coding, transparency, frame structure, and display orientation. Generic facts such as filename, path, size, timestamps, and SHA-256 remain governed by File Master Primary.
Records the intrinsic horizontal pixel count of the decoded image canvas. Width is image geometry used for aspect ratio, rendering, layout, and resolution analysis.
Records the intrinsic vertical pixel count of the decoded image canvas. Height combines with width to define the asset's native dimensions and aspect ratio.
Identifies how image samples map to color, including RGB, grayscale, CMYK, palette-based color, and embedded ICC profile descriptions. Correct interpretation is required for faithful display.
Captures the declared bits per sample or channel and therefore the tonal precision available to the image. This is an image-signal property, not a filesystem size measurement.
Describes the raster, vector, compression, or codec representation used to carry the image, such as JPEG DCT, PNG deflate, HEIF/HEVC, raw sensor data, or SVG markup.
States whether compositing uses no transparency, an alpha channel, palette transparency, or another declared transparency mechanism. That behavior is unique to visual rendering.
Distinguishes a single still image from an animated, multi-image, or multipage asset by recording its declared image or frame count.
Records the rotation or reflection transform required to display the image as intended, including EXIF orientation instructions that do not alter the stored pixel matrix.
